Our Life

We are Lindsay and Jay, and we like each other a lot.  Sometimes we even use the other “L” word to describe our feelings for each other, but we’ll get into that more later on.  We love food, travel, laughing, and our dogs and spend as much time as we can incorporating those four things into our lives.

We started writing this blog because our relationship was, er, not doing well.

It’s true!

We thought we’d write about our relationships.  Then, we realized that Lindsay should do the writing, and that it should be about food.

Jay still writes occasionally, but we’re thrilled with the shift we’ve made to full-on foodies since taking up this fun endeavor!

Throughout the course of our relationship we’ve encountered a few hiccups, but that pesky “L” word keeps bringing us back together.  We’re working on it, and have decided to use the internet as a form of free therapy to document our life together.

More recently, we done boughta house, which has been exciting and scary and exciting and scary. And scary.

If you’re into drama, stereotypes, on-again, off-again relationships, women nagging, and excess boxed wine consumption you’ve definitely come to the right place.  We’re glad you’re here!  Try not to be too bored or offended by us.

  1. Hey, Lindsay! Love the cooking stuff!

I love Jerk spices (hold the comments….LOL). I found a jerk Chicken recipe. The recipe for the jerk sauce was really good, easy, and cheap. BTW it was HOT and full flavored, too. Here is the recipe. What do you think?

    Jamaican Jerk Rum Rub:
    1 red onion, chopped
    1 1/2 teaspoons dried thyme
    1 teaspoon ground allspice
    1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    4 teaspoons white pepper
1/4 cup chopped green onion tops
    2 teaspoons salt
    1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
    5 small jalapenos
2 tablespoons cooking oil (olive or vegetable)
Splash flavorful rum (a splash for you and 2 for me….)
Put all ingredients into food processor. Mix on high for 15 pulses.
    Yield: 1/2 to 2/3 cup
