Asian BeansI know.

I’ve told you about something similar to this before, but they were so dang spicy they burned my mouth.

These are easier.  These are milder.  These are healthier.

You’ll love them!  Fresh green beans stir friend so quickly, then tossed with garlic and a really light brown sauce.

They’re so easy, in fact, that I didn’t bother with process pictures.  You’re an adult.  Picture it in your head.

Here’s what you need:

  • 1/2 lb green beans, trimmed (4 handfuls or so)
  • 1 teaspoon oil, your choice
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3 cloves garlic, coarsley chopped
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha (optional)

Done.  Heat a pan to medium-high heat, and add the green beans and oil before the pan is totally hot – they’ll warm and cook gently that way.  When the beans start to sizzle, toss them for 2 minutes until they’re bright green on the outside.

Add the water, and let it bubble to help cook the beans through.  When the water is half reduced, add the garlic, oyster sauce, and sriracha.  Stir everything to create a sauce.  Let the sauce reduce for about 1 more minute until thick and coated over all the green beans.
