In that case, you should definitely dress up in a dress and pink polo and pose like a fairy.
Just in case.
Do you ever feel like you have it all together, and then you plan a beach weekend with your girlfriends and get all excited and then you realize that you’re running yourself ragged and you’ve NEVER NEEDED TO GET AWAY MORE and you’re so grateful to have friends that you can escape your life with?
Fine. I’m alone in this quest to do everythingallatoncewithoutanysleep? You people are just un-American.
And I’m going to the beach today!
And I’m REALLY happy about it.
And I didn’t make any plans.
And then, I had lunch with my girlfriends on Friday afternoon that ended with a wee bit of a buzz. Whatever.
Then, I got home and only left the house to practice yoga for the next three days.
I slept a lot.
I ate a lot.
I cooked a ton.
I barely spoke to anyone.
This was one of the things I made!
You heard me.
Nutella. Bananas. Cinnamon. Pastry.
These are GOOD, kids.
Remember way back five seconds ago when we had our first giveaway that our blogging buddy Tim won? Well, part of that giveaway was two other winners that suggested puff pastry recipes for us to try. This is the first one!
This isn’t anything mindblowing, but it’s GOOD.
Also, if you don’t make pesto with lots of things all the time, you really need to start.
Seriously. Different nuts, herbs, even LETTUCE….go crazy! And tell me what you come up with so I can copy it and make it my own.
My herbs are sad, folks.
Luckily, though, my grandparents and mother are fantabulous gardeners, and gave me a massive quantity of basil a few weeks ago.
So, naturally, I made pesto.
It’s easy, it’s delicious, and there are SO many things you can do with it.
Let’s make pesto!
It feels wonderful here. I was lucky enough to spend some time outdoors this weekend, and WOW. So lovely!
I don’t miss the humidity. Not one little bit.
Got any fun plans this weekend?
Jay’s out of town, so I’m eating weird girly things and washing all the laundry.
I’m a good person, that way.
I’m not sure if you know this, but up there under the FOOD tab I’ve got an Entertaining at Home page – it has a list of all the party ideas I’ve written about with some suggestions for timelines and how early you can make certain dishes.
Click on each of the pictures for the whole plan – the captions below the pictures tell you what the specific entertaining idea is. There are lots of ideas – from fish tacos to homemade sushi and anything in between – you choose how crazy you get to go.
Have some friends over this weekend, and make a fun dinner!
Invite me too, because I’ll be lonely.
I’ve been telling you about all these dumb cream cheeses.
I’m sorry about that.
There was a reason for it, though!
I know you’re relieved to know that the time has come for you to know the reason.
We’re going to have a smoked salmon spread for brunch!
Or a shower.
Or a wedding.
Or a party.
You get the picture.
